READING TOPICS

Overview

Conferencing is all about reading and writing responses to topics. Here we'll take a look at your options in reading topics.

Basic Options

Prev topic | Next topic | Prev conf | Next conf | Freeze | Forget

The "Previous Topic", "Next Topic", "Previous Conference", "Next Conference" options allow you to jump to the next topic or to the previous topic in the current conference, and jump to the next conference or the previous conference in your conference list.

If you created the topic you are currently viewing you can also "Freeze" that topic. Freezing a topic closes that topic from further responses and no one will be able to add to the topic from the moment it is frozen.

The "Forget" button removes the topic from the list of topics you will see when you enter the conference. Normally when you enter a conference you see a list of all the topics which have seen activity since you last visited, forgetting a topic will remove it from that list. (You may still see the topic by choosing View All from within the Browse Conference screen)

Reading a Response

The header at the top of the response includes the number of the response, the date the response was created, who wrote the response and a mailto link to the author of the response

What follows this header information is the body of the response. This may include HTML tags including links and images.

Secondary Options

Conference Menu | Forget | Leave Unread | The "Conference Menu" button will take you back to the list of topics in the current conference.

If you would no longer like to have a particular topic appear on your list of topics in a conference you may choose to Forget that topic by selecting Forget here. If you would like a topic to appear on your topic list as if you had not looked at it you may select Preserve as Unread. The Next option jumps you to the next topic in the conference.
