PeeWee Has Passed Away

PeeWee Pinocchio Pinsizzle of Leo's Lair- Passed away last night, July 28th, at 8:45pm in his home in Webberville, Texas.

"Mr. Silky" 3/89 - 7/98

PeeWee (AKA Mr. Silky) was a Cornish Rex cat purchased from Leo's Lair of San Antonio in Spring of 1989. At the time, only around a thousand Cornish Rexes existed in the world. The genetic mutation which causes the near hairlessness and affectionate temperament occurred spontaneously in Cornwall England. Today, The Cornish Rex is a well recognized and loved breed. Recently, another "Rex"- "Grandpa Rex Allen" passed away here in Austin-and was over 33 years old. Our PeeWee did not make it that long, but in nearly a decade, PeeWee became known and loved by everyone we knew. His open affection for everyone, endearing affectations, and striking looks- made a lasting impression on all who met him. His daily ritual of jumping under the covers in the morning....head butting...and cleaning of my beard...will not be easy to live without. PeeWee was truly one of a kind. There will never be another Mr.Silky.....
