Austin Studios, at the old Mueller Airport, may get a $1.5 million grant from the US Dept of Commerce to fix up it's fix studios. Moviemaker Magazine recently named Austin the second best US city to make films, after New York.

Five years ago, the Austin Film Society began using five hangars at Mueller as soundstages and studios. The space has been used for 18 movies and 30 other productions such as music videos and commercials.

MTV has tapped Austin for the 16th season of it's series "The Real World" and the show will be filming here for the next few months.

MTV picks seven hot looking strangers to live together in a way cool house or mansion. More if we get any local sitings or news.
