Sandy's been waiting 5 years to move in to her Lake Austin home and is beset with lawsuits that she's bringing against her builder, Daneshou. Too bad she got a lousy builder, I know what that's like!

Famous Hollywood movie star Sandra Bullock will be paid $7 million in a lawsuit for damages caused to her Texas house during restoration works, court decision announced. The actress won the court battle against the construction company that carried out works about her house, where she wanted to move as soon as possible.
The house is located on Lake Austin bank and had leakages in many places. It also had damaged wirings and holes in the basement. The court procedure was started when Bullock’s lawyers insisted on the contractor to return the money for fixings about Sandra’s 10,000-square-foot house.
The construction of the house has lasted since 1998, which made the star loose her patience. Despite the assurances of the builders to fix all the necessary defects, Sandra Bullock finally brought the action.
This is from Oct 2004.

several members of the Hollywood community, including Sandra Bullock and Leonardo DiCaprio, were said to have given large donations to the relief efforts. Others participated in a live TV fundraiser which raised millions for the tragedy. I could easily point to a multitude of other examples.

Sandy plugs Sandy's and other Austin eateries on Daily Show
As is our habit, my wife and I were watching the Daily Show last night. The guest was Sandra Bullock. She was there to plug Miss Congeniality 2 (feh), but her conversation with Jon Stewart turned to Austin. They both gushed about our fair city and the topic turned to local eateries.
Bullock plugged Salt Lick which they both agreed was great. If you ask me, Cooper's is hands down the best BBQ around and well worth the extra half-hour drive.
Stewart asked her about an old burger place that everyone recommends in town. She thought for a moment and suggested Sandy's which I thought was a cool plug, but probably not the one he was trying to remember. I'm guessing he was talking about Hut's, but then thought it could be Dirty's, Top Notch, or Hillbert's. For burger joint atmosphere, I think any of those that I mentioned are worthy. However, I still think the Amarillo burger at Casino El Camino is the best burger in town. Period.

I haven't seen it yet. Just the trailer which looked pretty good. She did pretty well on the Daily Show with John Stewart, the sexual innudendos were flying around with reckless abandon. I'm glad Sandy represents Austin so well, and will forgive her for not knowing the name of the good burger place in town. All she could think of was a place called Sandy's which she said had pretty good burgers. Figures!
Gotta love her.

In November 2007, Sandra Bullock opened Bess in the old bank vault of a building built in 1918 on Austin's Old Pecan Street. The structure's historic brick columns and arches, iron railings and old timbers were painstakingly preserved as solid pecan woodwork, custom tile, extraordinary etched glass, antique mirrors and artwork was added.
