i have attempted to make quilts but i am awful at it. i'm working on a wall hanging now, but only have two blocks (of 12 total) made.

here's a bit of interesting info i've just read. it comes out of the november issue of national geographic:

it appears that some quilts made by slaves had coded blocks on them concerning the underground railroad. it's quite interesting and the text gives a url address:

Thanks - sounds fascinating, and while Terry and ratthing agree that telnet rules...I have to get out of it (where I am now) before I can use that link.
More than likely they know how to access it from here, but I do not!
