Topic 56 of 69: Fashion Dolls

Fri, Dec 31, 1999 (15:25) | Wolf (wolf)
After all, there are some other fashion dolls just as collectible as Barbie, like Gene, Tyler, and Somers & Field. If you collect these dolls or are interested in them, please let us know. I'll try to get pics up and some good websites.

my really old sister ('cause I refuse to admit I even know about this doll) had a dressmaker doll about 1/2 the size of Barbie. Her arms unplugged from her torso. Anyone ever see one of these in a museum or whatever? Never named them because they were just to hold up your sewing
creations.

a dressmaker doll? no head? does she have any identifying marks on her back?

and speaking of dressmaker forms, you can use a barbie who's lost her head to
hold those beautiful gowns she wears-like a mannequin (thanks to millers for
that tip)!

Head is there. mannequin is not. I recall her face and painted-on hair was strictly rudimenatary (spelled wrong but I cannot go back to fix it) Her head I think did come off so you could slip clothes over her head...but perhaps not. I do not recall a name on her..will ask my ancient sister to see if she remembers. *grin*
