have been cross stitching for about 9 years now and all my pieces are hanging on the walls of my home. have about 15 more projects to work on and if you check the ornamental hand-sewing topic, you'll see that i have one big project that has taken 2 years so far--which is what's good about doing this as a hobby. i work on smaller projects between my rest periods on the big one to give me some gratification at finishing something!
the big piece i'm doing is Teresa Wentzler's "English Garden Sampler" which will be about 21 3/4" x 15 1/2" unframed. it's stitched on 25-count fabric so you know the details are intricate. it has several stitching styles and some hardanger (which scares me a little). but it will be so worth it once it's framed and hanging in my bedroom. i'll see if i can find a website where you can look at the finished project.

I have many pieces I have crosss stiched but they are all mildewing. When I move to the mainland I will resume hand sewing and knitting. I can hardly wait!

i have good news on my peacock project (which is the english garden sampler). Am almost finished!! i decided to forego the cutting and tying for a simpler border pattern that matches the design feel. can't wait to be completely finished (have to repair some beadwork) and have it framed!
marcia, have you picked up your needle again?

ok, my peacock is finished!! it is hanging in my living room for now and i'll have to get a pic to post here. over the years, the fabric got a little out of shape so the framed piece is a little crooked but i'm so glad to see it framed!!!

Shouldn't your peacock be out running running showing off it's feathers?
I thought you were in to free range woofie!

We need a picture of the peacock.
Wow, I can't believe it has been so long since I posted. I am on the mainland permanently now but my large supply of yarn, my needles and all of my belongings were missing when I returned to sell the house. After so many years, it is very hard to relize how I could have been looted by people who work for churches, supposedly. I have not gotten any supplies other than my sew-on-buttons needle and thread. I will. I have located places on the net that sell yarn.

Absolutely! Suddenly it has gone to summer from winter so my yarn-working days are limited until the air conditioners get fixed. Counted and otherwise cross stitch is just the right thing for this weather. I'd like to embroider blouses next white on white or nearly so.

those are so pretty--i have instructions for a lace blouse that's pieced together--of course, that has nothing to do with cross stitch!
have about 4 projects going at once now.

I need to find some space. I have that many projects but they are all laptop sorts and rocks like what is that lava-looking stuff I took to CA for my son to identify. We still don't know and will bring more pieces next trip in a month
I'd love to craft but the urban "dust" and grit that filters down gets everything dirty in these old houses.
