looked high and low for some cajun food last night (besides Bayou Bob's which I've already been to) to celebrate Fat Tuesday with but...
no one even knew what I meant by the phrase. "fat Tuesday? you mean the bar?"
Guess we are too far north and west. Last year same problem. Went to JAX and asked for a hurricane on Fat Tuesday his response was, "I can make you something that kinda tastes like that." AAaaaaaack! NO THANK YOU! Some things weren't meant to be approximated.

I ate at the Crab Shack again and had a great time, the appetizer was so
good that I had them doggie bag the main course and I had it later on
that night at home.

Ate at Washington Park Grill last week -- eggplant fettecine with roasted red peppers and kalamata olives (after an amazing calamari with cayenne aioli appetizer), on Friday The Armadillo (satisfactory Tex-Mex with very mild magaritas), on Saturday The Bluebonnet (satisfactory Tex-Mex with otta this world Patron Magaritas!!!). Saturday extended itself to accomadate several other bars after a few too many magarita liters at lunch (an afternoon with a good friend spent drinking, talking and playing pool!!)
Brandon was in Chicago for a week so I surrounded myself witenty of fun activities!
his week I'd like to go to the Melting Pot, an incredilble fondue restaurant in Littleton... ya'll feel free to come up and join me!

every Friday there is a Weekender section in both papers. Typically they review one or maybe two restaurants. Lately I've been frustrated because they have reveiwed a whole slew of chain restaurants. Who the heck cares about those?!?!?!

Salad was okay.
Almond crusted salmon was AMAZING!
Beer was yummy as usual.

I had the bestest shrimp bisque ever (spicy and rich)
Some odd prawn and fried vermicelli thingy with a wonton and mashed potatos on top. Strange mix of flavors.
Seared ahi with a ginger wasabi sauce (sounds trite and trendy but I really love the stuff!)
And the most delicious salmon with a raisin/ginger sauce, mashed potatos and green stuff.
Oooh boy, it was yummy!
