The SF Chronicle reported on June 20, 1997 that Steven Seagal, star of 'Hard to Kill',
'Under Siege', and other action adventure movies, has been elevated to "tulku" by
Penor Rimpoche, the Supreme Head of the Nyingma School of Tibetan Buddhism.
A tulku is a reincarnated lama. He is also a "terkon, someone with special
abilities to percieve the root teachings of Tibetan Buddhism."
