Topic 14 of 63: European hitchhiking adventures

Thu, Jul 10, 1997 (09:56) | Howell Parry (Howell)
Several years ago, I was a student at the University of Manchester, UK.

Every year, I did a sponsored hitchhike around Europe, to raise money
for the UK-based children's charity "Children In Need".

I kept a detailed diary and took lots of photos each time, as I
travelled around Belgium, visited Paris, Frankfurt, Bremen, Hamburg,
Lille, and met lots of interesting and weird people!

Read about my amazing adventures (with pictures) here:

I hope you enjoy them!

Happy reading,

Howell

An important thing about hitchhiking Europe is knowing laws of the country you pass through. E.g. is hitchhiking allowed? Where isn't it allowed? What's the legal situation on sleeping out somewhere? What are allowed to carry around, what not? What kind of places are better to gain you a good lift?
