Topic 11 of 52: Combining conferencing and email

Mon, Dec 8, 1997 (08:48) | Paul Terry Walhus (terry)
Email as a tool for gaining access to conferences.

David R. Woolley says:

Caucus has a bi-directional e-mail-conference gateway. When you
subscribe to a conference by e-mail, once a day you get all the new
messages that have been posted to the conference. They are bundled by
topic: all the new responses to topic 57 are bundled into one e-mail
message, new responses to topic 96 in another, etc. To post a message
to the conference, you just reply as you would to any other e-mail.

Do we need this here?

Nope. No community - the whole point is to draw people in and make
them part of something more than an e-mail list.
